What can I expect during my first session?

Your first session is a chance to get to know each other, discuss what brings you to counselling, and identify your goals. We’ll talk at your pace and answer any questions you may have

How do I know if counselling is right for me?

You don’t have to be in crisis to seek help. Counselling may be right for you if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or would like support navigating a challenge or life transition.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes, counselling is a private and confidential space where you can feel comfortable sharing openly. There are a few standard exceptions, which your counsellor will explain during your first session.

How often will we meet?

The frequency of sessions depends on your needs and goals. We’ll work together to find a schedule that feels comfortable and supportive for you.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies from person to person. We’ll work together to determine what feels right for you and adjust as your needs and goals change.

What if I'm nervous about starting counselling?

It’s completely normal to feel nervous about starting counselling. We’ll take things at your pace and create a comfortable, supportive space where you can feel at ease.

How do I book an appointment?

Do you offer virtual/online counselling?

Yes, we offer both online and telephone sessions for your convenience.

Do you offer sliding-scale or reduced-fee appointments?

Yes, we offer a limited number of sliding-scale and reduced-fee appointments for those who may need more accessible options.

Do you accept insurance or benefits plans?

We currently offer direct billing with Sun Life. For all other insurance providers, you will receive a receipt following your counselling session, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Do I need a diagnosis or referral to see a counsellor?

No you do not need a diagnosis or referral to see a counsellor.
